Note the bright areas of white distemper under the Kennziffer and behind the fuselage Balkenkreuz indicating that this aircraft has transferred from another unit or otherwise been given a new identity. "White 1" would ordinarily have been assigned to the Staffelkapitän- this may or may not have been Nowotny.."Nowi" had been appointed Kapitän of 1. Staffel on 25 October 1942 and had achieved his 100th on 15th June 1943...
